Lane Griffing - a graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a bachelors degree in petroleum engineering, Lane has nearly 15 years of oil and gas experience and over 14 years of IT experience. As a new engineer he worked in Midland, Texas as a production engineer for TXO Production and provided field supervision of workovers and recompletions in the Permian Basin and New Mexico. He also worked in the Gulf of Mexico, Rockies, the North Sea and Southern Europe and North Africa with stints in Egypt, Algeria, and Tunisia.
Lane cut his teeth on data communications as a communications officer serving in the Second Marine division as a battalion communications officer and platoon commander for Third Battalion, Eighth Marines, with deployments around the United States, the Mediterranean, and Middle East. He also acted as a technical communications evaluator for the Second Marine Expeditionary Force Special Operations Training Group.
While working and living in Italy for Baker Hughes, Lane had the opportunity to get in-depth exposure to a variety of information technology used to support business operations...this opportunity led to a transition away from oilfield operations to working in IT full-time. In addition to business management, Lane's primary focus is on strategic IT planning, managed IT services, disaster recovery design, virtualization, and automated network management. An avid private pilot, Lane is also an enthusiastic cyclist and outdoorsman.
